A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT ME

I am extremely excited about teaching your students Earth Science this
year. 6th Grade is a wonderful journey and it is amazing watching my
students grow over the course of the year.

I am a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a degree in English
Literature. Once I began teaching 11 years ago, I received certification
in Middle School Science also. I have an unique brain, because this is not
one of the "normal" pairings. I have been lucky to have been able to teach
6th, 7th and 8th students. I enjoy reading, spending time with my precious
lil' dog Scout and all things Science Fiction and Science related.

I am extremely blessed to be a 13 year cancer survivor. I am an active
participant with the EPMS Relay for Life Team. I look forward to getting
student involvement with this event also. It is held every May at
Veteran's Park here in Paulding County.

I am looking forward to an incredibly blessed year.

6TH GRADE SCIENCE GOALS

6th grade Science is a standard based curriculum designed to provide
students with the knowledge and skills for proficiency in science at this
level. This course uses hands-on, student-centered, and inquiry-based
approach. Science consists of a way of thinking and investigating, as well
as a growing body of knowledge about the natural world. To become literate
in science students need to acquire an understanding of both the
Characteristics of Science and its Content. The relationship between
science, our environment, and our every day world is crucial to each
student’s success and will be emphasized.
