SUPPLIES:  Students will need a 3-ring binder,6 dividers, pens/pencils, notebook paper and markers/colored pencils.

CLASS EXPECTATIONS:  Students are expected to be prepared for class each day, turn work in on time, and be respectful in class. Students are expected to follow all lab safety rules.

ATTENDANCE/MAKEUP WORK: It is the student’s responsibility to obtain any missed work and to turn it back into the teacher in a timely manner. I use the county policy # of days you are out plus 1 for EXCUSED absences, and 1 day for UNEXCUSED absences. Arrangements to make up any missed tests must be made with the teacher upon returning to class. Late work is accepted at 10% off the first day, 50% off after and in the month, it is due only. Absent work will be in the Canvas HOMEPAGE AGENDA

MISSING WORK: Assignments not turned in will be marked as “Missing” in the grade book which counts as a zero until turned in. Late work is accepted 50% off and only in the month it is due. Absent work follows the county policy and then the 50% rule in the month it is due. At that time, a zero will remain in the grade book if an assignment is not turned in.

TUTORING: Thursday 3:30-4pm Foster 802; Mikell Tuesday 7:30-8:30am 607 Tutoring is for specific questions and help needed.

LAB EXPECTATIONS:  This is a DISSECTION COURSE. Students MUST participate in labs for credit. All labs will be conducted in a manner consistent with the lab safety rules that are distributed and signed at the beginning of the semester. Failure to follow proper lab safety rules may result in a zero and dismissal from the lab.

EATING IN CLASS:  Eating and drinking need to be kept to a minimum. No food/drink may be consumed during a lab. If trash is left in the room, then eating and drinking will be prohibited.

HALL PASSES AND TARDIES:  Late students will NOT be permitted into the classroom without a kiosk pass. Students should make every effort to go to the restroom, get water, a snack, etc. between classes. If a student needs to use the restroom during class, then they must ask for a pass. Students are not allowed to go to a vending machine during class time. Students that are caught out of area when given a hall pass will not be permitted to leave the room thereafter.

USE OF PHONE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICES:  Using a phone or other device for anything but specified classwork or other approved reason may result in disciplinary action. Phones/tablets/etc. are not allowed during any type of assessment including quizzes and tests. Cell phones may be taken up if student is using the phone for unapproved reasons or during an assessment of any kind. I will NOT compete with cell phones or devices. Students cannot learn what they need at the same time they are on a device. NO ADDITIONAL EXTRA CREDIT or ASSIGNMENTS will be given to students that violate the cell phone policy. STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO MAKE PHONE CALLS DURING CLASS FOR ANY REASON. IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY PARENTS NEED TO CONTACT THE FRONT OFFICE.

TEST RETAKE POLICY: Students will be given a 2nd chance on ALL tests on the FINAL EXAM. Students will not be permitted to retake failed tests. Mastery opportunity is provided through the final exam.

DISSECTIONS: Several dissections will occur in this course. Proper lab protocol will be followed, or the student will be dismissed from the lab and will be given a zero for a lab grade.
